Mangroves are quiet powerhouses—sheltering new life and standing strong through every tide. They flourish in tough conditions, adapting and nurturing all at once. Just like the mothers I meet every day.
Across the world, mangroves are protected for the vital role they play. In my work as an IBCLC, I carry that same intention: to protect and nourish the tender, powerful ecosystems of early motherhood.
Inspired by Singapore’s tropical mangroves, Mamagrove is a place of calm and care—for mothers growing, healing, and finding their own strength.
Originally from the Netherlands, I’ve been an adventurer since 18—living in Corsica, Guatemala, Paris, and eventually settling in Singapore in 2014 with my French husband.
The biggest part of my career was in brand marketing, helping businesses with strategy and rebranding. But everything shifted in 2018 with the birth of my son, Olli.
Our breastfeeding journey was intense: bleeding nipples, thrush, MRSA, and multiple bouts of mastitis. I met specialists who meant well but didn’t always help—from a lactation consultant massaging with her knuckles to a surgeon advising me to stop breastfeeding. Looking back, so much could have been avoided with the right care.
After days of painful engorgement, I met a lactation masseuse whose gentle touch brought both relief and calm. That moment lit a spark—a deep drive to offer mothers the care I wish I had. It led me to years of study, hands-on training, and eventually becoming an IBCLC.
I offer evidence-based breastfeeding support, combined with bodywork and emotional care. My qualifications include:
Over the past five years, I’ve supported over 500 families—helping with everything from latch issues and mastitis to milk supply, tongue tie, bottle refusal, pumping struggles, and feeding support for premature babies. My approach is hands-on, grounded in science and clinical experience—but above all, deeply empathic, which many parents have said made them feel truly seen and supported.
After two years working with midwives and IBCLCs in Amsterdam, I’m now back in Singapore and happy to offer in-home and virtual support once again.
Whether you need help preparing for breastfeeding, working through challenges, or finding relief with lactation massage—I’d be so happy to support you.
With love,
Marloes
